The Saga Continues

We still havent gotten anything resolved with Alicia's medical assistance. All her calls go unanswered and messages never get returned. So...plan B!

I added Alicia onto my insurance starting January 1st (open enrollment) just in case she wasnt approved for medical assistance. See they were suppose to have a response to us 30 days from receiving the application so that would have been January 5th. Any way, I've been paying $200 a month for insurance and she wasnt even using it.

Today I decided to finally use it because we arent getting any where. I found Alicia and I a family doctor in the area and I found an OBGYN as well for her. Also, I found Christian a doctor that is two blocks from our house! So now Alicia can start going back to the doctors...

I talked to my mom about the medical assistance problems and she suggested contacting the Montgomery County state rep. and addressing the issue to him. You can bet that I'll be writing a letter to him (with Alicia's help too!)

Another thing

Alicia and I decided that we are NOT going to find out the sex of the baby. We decided that we wanted to be surprised. It wasnt an easy to decide because we like to be prepared, especially in our situation...This pregnancy is so different already and we wanted it to stay and remain different and unique. If its a boy then we are well prepared but if its a girl we have a lot of things to buy!

Just wanted to share that....I'm sure I'll be posting more today. Its going to be a long, slow day at work.

Snow Baby!

Oh yeah! Ms. Winter weather took a dump on us! (noticed I said Ms. not Mrs.? thats because nobody likes her and so there for she will remain single....)So far she dropped 3-6 inches up our way. KC and Alicia like it...they were outside this morning shoveling. Alicia finds it relaxing...I went to work around 8:45 instead of 6:30. I waited till they plowed but even then the roads were still bad. I drove 35 mph the whole time...especially after the last accident. I passed a few accidents, they must have been going to fast. There were people that were passing me going 50+! crazy. I got to work in about an hour and a half. I'm spending the night at my moms or grandparents...just to play it safe.

Alicia called me and told me that she got a call from the library, they arent having story hour because they are closing all public libraries today.

You know what bugs me...i'm sick and I'm still coming to work. The weather was bad and I still drove over and hour to come to work. I didnt call out...just a thought...

John and Kate plus 8

I'm not a big fan of the show but every since I heard the rumors of them moving to Wernersville I became interested and wanted to know...Last night was show all about the new house. Alicia and I were so excited to watch it but disappointed by the end of the show. THey never revealed where they moved to! However, this one website claimed they knew where they lived and had pictures of the house. They said it was in Wernersville, Pa and so this morning I looked at the website and the pictures they had and sure enough...The Gosselins moved to Wernersville! I'm not sure what part of Wernersville they live in, its not a big town...maybe we'll see them?

Here's the website:

What a weekend!

So many things…where to start? I guess we can start with the bad and end with the good! As many of you probably heard we were involved in a car accident on Monday. I was driving but it wasn’t my fault! Alicia, Christian and I were leaving the library when it happened. When we left to go to the library the roads were fine, it was just flurries, but when we left it was like a white out. Traffic was backed up a long way so nobody was going really fast. The roads weren’t plowed or salted yet. I was about 15-20 feet from the car in front of us and the light turned red. Well he must have been up the other cars ass because his car slide and almost hit the car in front of him. I slowed down and came to a stop because nobody else was moving. I said to Alicia, that was close…WHAM, the car behind us smashed into our bumper on the passenger side. We didn’t “fly” forward and hit the car in front of us…none of us were hurt seriously.

Alicia called her doctor because her stomach was hurting. She was wearing her seat belt but because of the coat she was wearing she had it on her stomach instead of below. After the accident Christian looked terrified and started holding his head. He said his head hurt so we decided to get him checked out as well.

At the hospital, I went with Christian into Pediatrics while Alicia went upstairs to the Maternity triage. We received prompt service, with Christian, they said he seemed to be fine (keep in mind he’s jumping on the hospital bed, laughing and talking the whole time!) but they wanted to do a CT scan to make sure. I had to hold Christian while someone wheeled us to get his picture taken. He did pretty well. He started to cry when they were strapping him down and you can tell that he was scared because he was repeating everything I was saying, “good boy, I love you…”it was cute, he was crying and had tears running down his face but when the guy asked him to say cheese he would stop crying long enough to say cheese.

Alicia was fine. They recommended she follow up with her regular doctor. They monitored her for four hours and saw nothing concerning. We arrived at the hospital at 5:15 and left a little after 10. Nana Sue came up to be with Alicia and Christian so thank you for coming up. Still think you should have spent the night….

To end on a good note, Christian is doing fantastic with using the potty. He’s at the point where you don’t always have to remind him to go, he just goes! Yesterday, he went 5 times, 4 at home and once out in public…his first time in public! We haven’t quiet got the pooping in the potty down but he can pee like a whiz! Yesterday he tried to go poop all by himself. He had his pants half down and he walked over to me and grabbed my hand…he peed in the toilet but also pooped all over it, the floor and his pants…

This and That

We caved in and got cable. Well actualy DirecTV because there is no cable hookups. I guess you could say we were spoiled living with mom. Having cable we got into shows, so with Lost season 5 starting soon and Nip/Tuck too...we decided to get it. We made sure to get the DVR service as well because those shows are on when Christian is still awake and we dont want to take time away from him. So now we can watch the news (well maybe...) and the weather channel. Now we can be prepared each day!

So I picked up another Joseph Finder book. I read Company Man and it was really good, a nice surprise twist at the end. The one I'm reading now is Power Play, so far its good...Alicia had a job interview last night. Its at the Berkshire Mall which is really close to the house, maybe 15 minutes. Fingers crossed! We find out on Monday or Tuesday.

Christian is doing really well, ever since he got the tubes in last winter he hasnt gotten as sick as he has. He's really into repeating words and putting two or more words together. He's definitely a boy! Very distructive and he is into sports. He likes to play catch (sort of...he likes to fake you out), kicking the ball, baseball and he's starting to try golf. Christian is can either be very independant or very dependant, just depends on the day...

Alicia goes for her next ultrasound at the end of the month....hopefully thats the time we can find out the sex!

snow...

IT SNOWED! and i hated it! Mommy, Christian and KC played out in the snow this weekend. I stayed inside, nice and warm, cleaning. I forgot my phone which has a few good pictures but here are a few. I'll post the ones from my phone tomorrow...

On Friday morning when we woke up it was freezing cold in the house...we checked the thermostat and it was 60 degrees in the house. It said the heat was on and set for 68 but only cold air was blowing out. I didnt have a lot of time to look at it because we had to leave for work. I wasnt coming home later because I had to work so when Alicia got home with Christian around 5:30 she said the house was below 60! We had no idea what was wrong with it. It couldnt have had malfunctioned on us. It was only 4 years old. Maybe the thermostat was broken, the auto function on it doesnt work...Alicia called Jack and the problem was the circuit breaker was turned off. No idea how that happened but she said as soon as she turned it on, it worked just fine. Major crisis adverted!

WITH OUT pressuring him he did it all by himself. he said he had to go pee pee so he went up stairs but couldnt make it so Alicia brought the toilet to him and he went! He sat down and peed!

Christian's Birthday

Its been a while since my last post, its been busy. Between working and not having the internet at home...

We had Christians B-day party / House warming party on Saturday. Alicia's mom was so nice and watched christian for us on Friday afternoon til his party. We got so much done, we got so much cleaning done and on Friday night we spent 4.5 hours cooking, preping and baking. I made Christian's birthday cake...it wasnt just some cake though, it was a Noah's Arc cake! Took me a long time to make and while it wasnt perfect it was still a great cake. I got a lot of compliments about it. I also make mini burgers with the works. Alicia made a veggie pizza too. She got some compliments about it as well. I'm not sure what its made from cause I dont eat veggies....

Everyone we invited showed up and had a great time. My grandparents were the only ones to get lost but they didnt get too lost! People started leaving around 5:30 and Jen, Frank, Cathleen and Miralys stayed till about 7:30. It was nice to have everyone come to our house and see everyone again.

Thank you to all who showed up to the party. We hoped you had a wonderful time!
